MY TRAIL RECORD

Trail Records is an online tool for disseminating routes made with GPS. Anyone can upload routes to Trail Records through the form provided.

The process is very simple, we ask that you provide a GPS file, the author's name, the name of the route, and a brief description.

Once the route uploads, we provide around the world the information provided, along with many other characteristics gathered by Trail Records.

    GeoNames : Thanks to the fast database gathered by this project, we can offer geographic locations interest around the world.

    Google Maps API : Service essential for the representation of each route an interactive map.

  • Google Geo Developers Blog Google Maps features a map that users can pan (by dragging the mouse) and zoom (by using the mouse wheel). Users may enter an address, intersection, ZIP code, city, or landmark (school, park, hospital, military base, lake, etc) to quickly find it on the map. Users can also search for businesses and attractions (for example, theatres, restaurants and hotels) in or near a given place. For example, a user can enter a query such as "Waffles in Ottawa" to find restaurants serving waffles in the city.

Panoramio : Thanks to which we can show photographs geographically connected with each route.

AccuWeather : Although not have a simple API, we were able to exploit information International weather this service (we have only applied to Spain, by the difficulty of extraction)

Google Adsense : By which we can obtain income, for the Cuba spending for housing and the Dominion Web.

Google Analytics : With which we have detailed monitoring of the visits, in order to improve the experience for our users.
